Edison Eats for Relief Campaign
In the wake of two major natural disasters, Hurricane Harvey and Irma that recently devastated Texas, and Florida, Edison Township has created an opportunity for our residents and businesses to show their support for the victims of these natural disasters. The Edison community has had a long history of service and volunteering and we would like to continue that tradition by having your business participate in the Edison Eats for Relief Campaign, the week of October 15, 2017 thru October 21, 2017.
We are asking all restaurants in Edison to donate either a percentage of their earnings for the day or a specific dollar amount to One America Appeal which was established by the five former living U.S. Presidents to assist the victims with their recovery. All donations or earnings will go directly to the campaign via this website, www.oneamericaappeal.org.
We are requesting that all participants in this fundraising effort register by clicking here, by September 30, 2017. Upon registration, we will coordinate the marketing and public relations campaign for this fundraising event and get the word out in our community to come out and support the local participating eateries during this week. Each business can either select a day or days to participate utilizing a percentage of sales or make a simple dollar donation. Edison Township will utilize the following marketing tools to promote this event:
-Posters with all sponsors’ names and logos
-Place names and logos on www.edisoneatsforrelief.com
-Promo spot on Edison TV
-Top 10 donors will receive a Mayoral Proclamation and visit from the Mayor that will be televised on Edison TV
I encourage all of you to seriously consider participating in this worthy event to bring our community together in support of our fellow Americans in their time of need.
Mayor Tom Lankey
